<p style="text-align: justify;">बता दें कि एक्ट्रेस ने मिस इंडिया 1994 कंपटीशन में हिस्सा लिया था, जहां ऐश्वर्या राय भी एक मजबूत कॉम्पिटीटर थीं. सुष्मिता ने मिस इंडिया का ताज जीता और उन्हें मिस यूनिवर्स कंपटीशन के लिए भेजा गया जबकि ऐश्वर्या राय को मिस वर्ल्ड पेजेंट के लिए भेजा गया. खास बात ये रही कि दोनों ने अपने-अपने इंटरनेशनल खिताब जीतकर देश का नाम रोशन किया.</p>
